Jim Thompson
Road Materials Sales & Fuels Manager
Jim has been with Stalite Lightweight Aggregate for over 45 years, bringing extensive experience in plant operations, fuel management, and road materials sales. He began his career in the coal laboratory and supporting plant maintenance before advancing into leadership roles.
Over the years, Jim has managed coal sourcing across Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky, helping optimize fuel supply and production efficiency. He later expanded into road materials sales, building strong relationships with NCDOT and regional partners while growing sales across multiple states.
Jim is known for his hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset, with a background in mechanics, welding, and equipment maintenance. He continues to support operational improvements across the plant. Outside of work, he enjoys motorcycle riding and working on antique cars.
