Description
The Courtyard by Marriott in Curaçao is a multi-story hospitality development constructed near the island’s cruise port and waterfront district. The project required a structural concrete system capable of delivering high strength while carefully managing total building weight in a coastal environment.
To meet design requirements, the concrete mix incorporated Stalite Lightweight Aggregate shipped from Gold Hill, North Carolina. Eight cargo containers totaling approximately 160 tons were delivered to the island, ensuring the structural system remained within established roof and floor load limits while maintaining performance and durability.
The project demonstrates the global reach of Stalite Lightweight Aggregate and its role in producing consistent, high-performance lightweight structural concrete for demanding coastal construction.
